Week #26: 6 Months

Our little love is 6 months!

Hazel's 6 Month Stats:
- 18.2lbs
- 26.75 inches
** We go to the doc in two weeks to get the official #'s.

Favorite things this week:
  •  Mommy  and Daddy had a date night while I hung out with Nana and Papa. This is really the 1st night Mommy & Daddy have gone out for more than 4 hours!  They grabbed some sushi at Seven and then hit up the Twins game with the Hadden's. I hear they had quite an adventure  with their seating arrangements during happy hour at Seven but Mike H. was a sweet talker and made everything workout!
  • Going to the Zoo with fabulous friends (Eva, Nathan, & Jackson)
  • 7/16 slept through the night 9pm-5:45am - YES, one down many more to go!
  • Going swimming at Lifetime with Nana.
  • Second to last week on having Daddy work on this Flugtag plane.
  • Playing in Lake Nokomis
  • Seeing Great Grandma &Grandpa Hinsch
  • Chewing on Gatorade  or water bottles, after all I am a big girl now!

Week #25: Super Sitting

Hazel did it!  She sat up by herself and played on the floor with her toys.  She was stable and was able to self-correct when she was about to tip over. She was so proud of herself and it is so cute to watch her just sit and play contently with her toys.  She also has started to destroy her little play gym. One pull and the gym collapses.  She like to stand up and chew on the gym supports prior to destroying them :)

"Nana the Nanny" and Hazel had yet another fun filled week.  Hazel attended her first pool party, went to the Zoo, and went to the park with friends.
Hazel chillin' in a bucket of water next to Ivy!

Week #24: Fits at 5 months - Yes is can happen

So this might not be funny when Hazel gets older but it totally made me crack up. The other night we were over at Nana & Papa's for dinner and Hazel was sitting on my lap while we were eating.  She insisted on trying to drink water from my glass (yes this is a first).  It was adorable and I must say she was persistent and liked the cold water hitting her lip (I also think she liked to chew on the cool glass). After a while I decided to put the glass down and finish eating.  The moment I pulled the glass away from Hazel she started to fuss really loud.  So I proceeded to give her the glass back and then she was silent and happy again. I tried this trick a couple other times and it was like clock work.  Hazel wanted the glass and if she didn't get it she was going to let you know, it was like she was saying "Ok Mommy I really want that glass, give it to me, GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I seriously broke out laughing but I am  not sure if that was the best response. I thought 5 months was a bit to young for manipulation.  Well, I guess not because it happened again when we went grocery shopping and I tried to remove my make-up remover pads from her at Cub as we were grocery shopping.  She was not going to have it. It was like I had a magic key. When I give her the pads she was happy and the moment I took them away she would cry.  So if you are wondering yes I did just let her suck on the make-up pads and called it day.  I just wonder if this is just the start of what a little diva Hazel is going to be??

Another busy week with Nana - out to lunch at Enjoy, MOA, the Farmers Market, Como Zoo and her first Mary-Go-Round ride.

Fun stuff this week:
- If you hold Hazel's arms and waist she will simulate walking - so cute
- Mike, I, Hazel and Cayman walk to a neighborhood restaurant and had dinner
- Hazel drank water out of a glass for the first time
- When Hazel's lays on her stomach she can push herself all the way up on her arms.
- Loves her new farris wheel like toy Nana got her

Week #23: Nana the Nanny

Hazel's days have been filled with daily adventures with Nana.  This week one of the travels included going to the Zoo with a dear family friend -  I think it is awesome my mom and her friends nanny their grand babies while their daughters are working (no fair).  I haven't googled it yet but I will be shortly  looking for a SAHN (Stay-At-Home-Nana) organization because if one is not created I am going to tell my mom to get on it!

Neat Things this Week:
  • Yes, we did it we put Hazel to sleep without her swaddle.  We had to after all because we couldn't even get her in that darn swaddle anymore.  Seriously, you would think 2 adults could get a baby in a swaddle but we couldn't so we figured our little angel was ready to sleep without her beloved swaddle. We have transitioned her to sleeping in her Banana outfit full time. After all she is still waking up a few times in the night with or without the swaddle.
  •  Anne and Stella came over for a wonderful walk and park excursion.  It was great to see them. Stella was so sweet to Hazel and just wanted to play with her.
