Week #41-Healthy Hazel!!!

Playing ball with Finnegan!
Hazel is back to her beautiful healthy self this week. She is chatting up a storm with all her sounds and raspberry blowing (i.e. ball, papa, puppy).  Still her favorite word/sound seem to be Papa.  Hopefully, soon "Mama" will make it into her vocabulary! What a wonderful birthday celebration I had this year- the best ever (after all what can be better than celebrating with family and being a mom).

Birthday #32 couldn't be better!

Week #40: Sick...our poor little darling

This week was really tough. Our poor little Hazel Mae was really sick. Her white blood cell count was high and they believed she had some type of bacterial infection in the blood (septicemia/bacteremia).

Over 4 days, our poor little darling had multiple doctor visits, a catheter, 2 chest x-rays, 4 pricks for blood work,  and 3 shots of Rocephin.   Thank goodness the rocephin worked, no hospital stay was required, and by the end of the week Hazel was getting back to her spunky self.

It was really scary and I can't image what those family must go through that have their little ones hospitalized for an extended period of time.  These family are now included in my nightly prayers.

To celebrate Hazel health on Saturday we spend time as a family at Minnehaha Falls - enjoying the fall weather and each other.

Over the weekend when Hazel was back to herself we noticed a few new thing...
  • Loves raises her hands in the air - it is like she just discovered her hands can raise over her head.
  • Says "ball"
  • Can walk holding onto one hand - but still prefers holding two
  • Watching the world go by with Cayman

Week #39: 3 kids+a mini van = tons of fun

Walking through the trails at the orchard
We did a test drive this weekend - we took 3 kids and a mini van to the Minnetonka Orchard.   It was a beautiful day and we have a blast.  Hazel loved hanging out with Nathan and Eva. Eva thought everything was "AWESOME" and Nathan wanted to know why Hazel drank milk out of my tummy (I will leave that one for Rebecca & Dan to explain after they return from Hawaii). Kids are so pure and totally say the darnest things!!

Week #38: Cheers to Fall

It is starting to officially feel like fall. The leaves are starting to change on the trees and the cool crisp air has moved it!  Hazel has always loved the outdoors and the chill in the air hasn't changed anything.  We still bundle up for our walks at night.  Hazel really prefers her Baby Bjorn to her stroller.  We start off our walk in the Bjorn and when Hazel falls asleep we transfer her to her stroller.  We also started to put Hazel's Halloween outfit together - she is going to be Miss Little Halloween and I can't wait to see how it is going to turn out!

I love this tutu fabric!!!!!

Week #37: Joyeux Anniversaire to Nana & Papa

It was Nana & Papa's 34th wedding anniversary so of course we had to do something fun. Mommy loves planning surprises to make events special.  Nana & Papa thought they were watching me for the weekend but instead they were going to Bayfield,WI (voted "Best little town in the Midwest" by Chicago Tribune) to spend the weekend relaxing, rejuvenating, and just simply enjoying each other.
They stayed at Pinehurst Inn, strolled around Madeline Island, and had dinner at Wild RiceWild Rice.  They truly had a wonderful weekend and it was awesome planning the surprise.  After all, Nana and Papa are pretty amazing people who are always doing stuff for everyone else.
